The new high style motion furniture from has exceeded my expectations in terms of style & comfort.  Those of us who have always longed for the comfort of reclining furniture, but have been continually disappointed with the over-sized, bachelor pad, man cave style options can now rejoice in the new high style look of reclining furniture available in today’s market.  Along with the more refined look, the quality and features are amazing too.

The following options are available in select groups in the power motion offerings by Flexsteel:

Close wall proximity allows you to open and recline in any position with the furniture positioned only inches from the wall.  This feature is available in most of Flexsteel’s motion furniture, with the exception of rocking, gliding or swivel recliners.

The power mechanism allows you to smoothly recline to any position with the touch of a button.  If the select group offers the power headrest option, the dual power button allows you to operate the reclining and headrest mechanisms independently.

Many of the power reclining options will also include a USB charging station option.

Removable back allows for easy lifting and maneuvering through doorways when your furniture is placed in your home or needs to be moved.

All Flexsteel motion furniture features the blue steel spring unit for optimum seating support and durability backed by a lifetime warranty.

Several of Flexsteels’s power motion groups are also available without power, if you prefer manual operation.

*** Specific features will vary by manufacturer and furniture groups.

Finding the Perfect Pillow

Friday, September 2nd, 2016

There is no “one size fits all” pillow for everyone; there are many factors to consider in a pillow that will provide the proper support and comfort you need.  Support is an essential element in spinal alignment.  Sleep position will help determine the proper support for your head, while also aligning your neck with your spine.  For example: If you sleep on your stomach, the profile of the pillow will need to be much thinner than a back or side sleeper to provide you with proper alignment.

Body size is another factor.  If you sleep on your back or side, the distance between your body and pillow height will help determine the thickness profile you need from your pillow.  I sleep on both my back and side, so I had to choose a pillow that works for both sleeping positions.

Ultimately, the best way to choose a pillow is to try them out first.  The best time to do this is when you are purchasing your mattress, so you can try the pillow out with your mattress.  If you already have a great mattress, but still need the perfect pillow to match, you can go to the mattress or furniture store and try out different pillows while lying on a similar mattress to the one you own.

A sales associate can help you out by looking at the height where your head rests on the pillow.  If you head is propped up to much, then the pillow is not providing you with proper alignment for your neck, so then you can try a lower profile pillow.  Try out as many pillows as you need starting with one designed for your sleep position.

Comfort is relative to each person.  There are a variety of fill materials used in pillows, as well as materials that keep your pillow cool to the touch.  Maybe you suffer from allergies, or sleep apnea.  These will be additional things to consider when purchasing your pillow.
